Welcome to the Great Play, Toy Swap and Recycle Festival!

Do you have a pile of outgrown toys and children’s clothing that you think deserve a second chance? Then you’ve come to the right place! Join us at our festival and exchange your items for “new” treasures that other families have contributed. Let’s work together to reduce our toy footprint and keep items circulating in the play chain longer.

What can you expect?

• Swap up to 5 pieces (of each) of toys and children’s clothing and discover fantastic new items to take home.
• Participate in our free creative workshops throughout the day, where we recycle, repair, and upcycle together. Unleash your creativity as we set new goals for our old belongings.

Workshops:

Toy Repair Station + Disassembly Workshop

Come with toys that are glitchy, no longer working, or just need a little love. The folks from Repair Café Jeltje breathe new life into almost discarded items through repair. Because too often, we think an item is ready for the trash too quickly.

If you want to learn more about repairing yourself or are just curious about what your toys look like on the inside, you can participate in the workshop. Under the guidance of a handy father, we’ll be disassembling and reassembling things, learning about how a battery works, and doing other exciting experiments with toys.

Saturday and Sunday between 13:00 and 14:00, please arrive 15 minutes early, and space is limited.

Clothing Repair Station

Repair that hole in your pants, cover up that stain with your own creation, a unique patch. Transform that old pair of pants into a bag or turn a favorite sweater that no longer fits into a stuffed toy. Then you can keep it with you forever! Together, we’ll recycle and repair with needle and thread. If you’ve never done it before, no worries, Marte will teach you!

Upcycle and Recycle Play Station

Do you really need toys to play? We don’t think so… you can do just as well with all those unnecessary items that your parents are about to throw away. Cardboard tubes, cans, tangerine nets, and cardboard are all we need to bring our fantasy world to life. Will you help us build a huge marble run?
