My first impression? Amazing! Really amazing! It is great that they have maintained the original features of the building and then kind of adapted those to give it a really contemporary industrial look. I think it is amazing. It can really change the neighbourhood as well. I live down the road and 8 years ago it was really a bit of a dodgy neighbourhood. You had to be really careful where you were walking. But now it is full of tourists. It attracts a different group of people so I think De Hallen have upgraded the neighbourhood.

It is a great place to spend time and meet people. De Foodhallen are obviously a great attraction. The cinema is also quite a nice feature, especially in the winter. People can meet at the Foodhallen and then go see a movie. It is really close to the citycentre and from an architectural point of view it is definitely worth a visit! We absolutely recommend it to everybody. It is a special feature in the city I think!

My favourite place within De Hallen? My shop! I think this shop is quite a slightly different thing than what is already available in De Hallen. It is for women of 45 and over and we decided to specialize in high quality clothing that is made in Europe instead of Asia for example. That is very important to our clientele.
