Work with artist Erna van Sambeek the kintsugi way with shards and textiles. In this workshop you make your own new work from, for example, your favorite broken cup or plate.

Shards and textiles

In this workshop you work with shards, pieces of fabric or threads, knitted, crocheted or knotted. You choose the colors that appeal to you and with strong glue you make something new and whole again. The combination of hard and soft emphasizes the beauty of imperfections.

Beautifuly broken

Kintsugi is a Japanese art form in which broken pottery is repaired with gold glue to emphasize what has been broken rather than hide it. In Japanese aesthetics, the traces of breakage contribute to the beauty of an object.

Shards and textiles are present, but please bring whatever you like to work with.
