Women in Art 2024

The Kiekie Art Foundation is organizing Women in Art for the second time, aiming to accelerate gender equality in the art world. Starting from March 1st, Amsterdam West will be the backdrop for this event. Besides a main exhibition, the project includes, among other things, a free public program and an honor gallery featuring Dutch photography greats.

Twenty-four female illustrators and photographers have developed a diptych for Women in Art, on display in the Passage of De Hallen from 1st until 10th of March, inspired by women who have been (or are) significant to the art world.

Art for everyone
Women in Art aims to promote equal opportunities in the arts, for creators, buyers, and viewers alike. That’s why there’s a freely accessible public program during the first two weekends of March. By signing up online, you can join more than 30 activities, such as panel talks on art education & opportunities in the job market (with, among others, Diana Blok and Gonca Yalciner) or equality in art (with Hendrikje Crebolder and Jessy Koeiman).

There are also workshops and masterclasses on topics like image rights, AI, and portrait photography, as well as children’s workshops from The Kidspiration Club.

From March 1st to 31st, the exhibition pieces will be available for sale online, individually and in a limited edition of 20 copies each. Fifteen percent of the proceeds will go to WOMEN Inc., and the remaining 85% will go to the artists themselves.
