Solo exhibition Roos van Lierop
This summer the dance drawings and self-portraits by Roos van Lierop are on view in the art library of Beeldend Gesproken. The subtle self-portraits that Van Lierop has been making since 2000 are emotional representations of all kinds of moods. For the artist, making self-portraits is a way of expressing her feelings: ‘Sometimes I don’t know what to paint, then I look in the mirror and make a self-portrait. That’s how I get inspired again. The portraits are a very direct representation of my feeling at that moment and often a relief to make.
In addition, Beeldend Gesproken shows a series of recent dance drawings by Roos van Lierop. These drawings are portraits of dancers during dance improvisation and choreography lessons. Each and every one of them is a colourful, accurate image that exude the artists enthusiasm for dance.
On display at Art library Beeldend Gesproken from July 8 to August 20
