Coffee, Croissant & Concert!

Every last Sunday morning of the month: Coffee, Croissant & Concert. A classical concert by students from the Conservatory of Amsterdam. This time featuring Jamie Bao and Neil Dixon, and, of course, there is a coffee and croissant deal at Café Belcampo!

Biographies:
Jamie Bao (18 years old) is a second-year violin student at the Conservatory of Amsterdam under the guidance of Eliot Lawson. He started playing the violin at the age of 4 and has been taught by prominent teachers, including Peter de Leeuw and Wiesje Miedema. In addition to the violin, Jamie also plays the piano and has won awards, such as the Princess Christina Competition in 2013 and the first prize at the Britten Competition in 2016. As a soloist, he has performed at prominent venues, including the Concertgebouw and the Hong Kong City Hall, as well as on national television in “De Wereld Draait Door.” Jamie is also active as a chamber musician, being a member of the group of young violinists called Stringwise.

Neil Dixon is studying violin at the Conservatory of Amsterdam under the guidance of Peter Brunt. His musical journey included earlier studies with Leland Chen, Remus Azoitei, Ruth Hahn, and Michael Gurevich. Neil has achieved impressive feats, including reaching the second round of the BBC Young Musician of the Year and participating in international summer masterclasses. As a soloist, he has performed at various locations in the United Kingdom, including the Royal Albert Hall and Pushkin House. Neil is also active as a chamber musician, with concerts in the Netherlands and the UK, including performances on Dutch national television with the Otilka Quartet. He currently plays a violin by Eugenio Degani from Venice, 1891.
