Daan Oostdam (1997) is a classical pianist based in Amsterdam. In 2023, he obtained his master’s degree from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where he studied under Frank Peters and Frank van de Laar. His passion lies mainly in the romantic piano repertoire, admiring composers such as Rachmaninoff, Medtner, and Chopin for their lyrical expressiveness and dramatic qualities. Daan frequently performs as a solo pianist and actively seeks collaborative opportunities, both in his piano trio ‘Riedbach’ and in a duo with cellist Simon Velthuis. They presented their album on NPO 4 in 2023 and plan to record solo CD albums for 7 Mountain Records and Teles Music label in 2024. Besides his career as a pianist, Daan finds inspiration in teaching, where he has been active as a teacher since 2019, aiming to pass on his passion for music to his students.
