Who can be seen?

Julian Stips is a unique and promising artist, known for his surreal and imaginative work. For this group exhibition he shows a series of new individual portraits of young men, entitled ‘Adonissen’. The professional painting techniques he uses ensure that he takes his audience into his imagination. With his characteristic powerful, fashionable lines, eccentric use of color and symbolism, he creates a sense of ambiguity in his work. Stips has been praised for his solo debut in 2021, selling his works to art lovers around the world. This new series, ‘Adonissen’, is a must-see for every art lover.

Willemien Ebbinge is art director and crayon artist. She makes small but powerful portraits with Caran D’ache wax crayons. Especially for this group exhibition she made a series of fashionable dogs, the Fashion Dogs, inspired by the latest trends in dog fashion, from stylish caps to trendy scarves. Ebbinge started a few years ago with her teeny tiny drawings. In her work she incorporates small details, so that she creates small works with a great effect.

Petra Lunenburg Fashion illustrator Petra Lunenburg presents her latest works on paper in this group exhibition. The series consists of a collection of female figures that pay homage to the British fashion designer Marie Quant of the 1960s and symbolize the femininity, life and beauty of women. Her signature style, whose raw minimalist abstraction creates a sense of ambiguity . Petra Lunenburg reveals a world of allure created by sensual and seductive portrayals of her subjects.

Mary B. is an Amsterdam-based fashion illustrator. After graduating from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, she further developed her skills in illustration and drawing by taking various courses at both Central Saint Martins in London and Arendonk Academy in Belgium. Her work mainly with colored pencil and oil pastel. Especially for this exhibition she made 50 new fashion looks inspired by the latest catwalk shows.

Leonie Bos is an Amsterdam-based artist known for her thoughtful settings and compositions in outspoken colours. Light and texture are essential in her work, unnecessary details are avoided. For a long time, architecture was Boss’s greatest source of inspiration. Nowadays a shift is visible and the human figure is increasingly reflected in her work, such as in her personal works that she will present for the first time in this gallery. Leonie has made illustrations for The New Yorker, New York Times, Wallpaper*, Apple, Monocle, Financial Times and Wall Street Journal, among others.

Don Duyns is new to the art world and is showing his work in this gallery for the first time. Duyns is an award-winning playwright, screenwriter and teacher at various art schools. His work is characterized by the strong urge to communicate with an audience, either through new images or stories, or through recreations of old myths or stories. In addition to being a writer, he is also increasingly emerging as a painter and draftsman. This combination of text and image is typical of his creative existence. For this exhibition he made colorful and lively drawings in his sketchbooks with paint and chalk, scenes of the everyday that he encountered during his vacation. Don Duyns is a versatile artist and shows that writing and drawing can reinforce each other. This exhibition is a unique opportunity to see, feel and purchase his works of art.
