Grand Circular Swap Festival – De Passage

Bring your items and swap them for something new to you! You can exchange:

  • Clothing for men, women, and children
  • Books and music (including vinyl)
  • Toys and kids’ items
  • Interior and decorative pieces
  • Accessories, plants, and cuttings

Plus: take part in free creative workshops, such as:

  • Key cords from old ties – upcycle a tie from your loved one, father, or grandfather into a personal keepsake.
  • Candle making in vintage cups – recycle old candle wax into something new.
  • Nature Clean! – create your own natural skincare products using ingredients from your kitchen.
  • Herbal garlands – craft a fragrant herb string to use in the kitchen or as decoration.

Also present: the Repair Café and EnergieWending, offering:

  • Free repairs for broken electronic devices.
  • Practical tips and materials to make your home more energy efficient and lower your energy bills.

This community-driven event brings together residents, organisations, and entrepreneurs from Oud-West — showing that sustainable living can be fun, social, and inspiring.

Sustainable Home Market 2025 – De Hallen Studio’s

At the same time, the Sustainable Home Market, organised by ToekomsthuisWG, takes place in De Hallen Studio’s. In this cosy ‘living room’ setting, you can sit down with sustainability experts over a cup of freshly brewed coffee from the KoffieKar and ask all your questions about green living.

Learn more about:

  • Home insulation and energy-saving tips
  • Subsidies and funding options
  • Climate-proof living (heat, flooding, drought)
  • The Library of Things – where you can borrow tools and appliances instead of buying them

Children are welcome too! Under the guidance of Cultura Nederland, they can join a fun workshop turning waste materials into colourful recycled robots.

Meet experts and local initiatives such as:

  • !Woon – free home energy advice
  • EnergieWending – helping households save energy
  • Amsterdam Weerproof – creating a weather-resilient city
  • City of Amsterdam – advice on sustainable subsidies and VvE improvements
  • KlimaatGesprekken – workshops on climate-friendly living
  • Plant Doctor Judith Dekker – tips for more green at home
  • Keen Greens – learn how to grow microgreens in your own kitchen

“We have to look to the future — for our children and grandchildren. Saying ‘it won’t affect me’ is not good enough,” says a visitor of the Ten Katemarkt.

Come join, swap, learn, repair, and discover how sustainability can be creative and joyful.
Free entry – everyone welcome!
