Intimate Portraits: Gioia Live

Gioia Fiorito has bipolar disorder. For a long time, dark nightmares dominated her life as the delusions in her head became reality. Now, ten years later, Fiorito lives a fairly stable life, but still with a rich fantasy. In Gioia Live she and dancer Mara Hulspas pay tribute to the power of fantasy, in which she looks back on the past and dreams about the future. The performance builds on the mini documentary Gioia (2019) by choreographer Liat Waysbort. The documentary was nominated for a Golden Calf at the time.
