Photo exhibition ‘URBAN MYTHS’

This month, three talented South African street photographers exhibit at the Passage of De Hallen.

The three young street photographers Lebogang Tlhako, Tshepo Moloi and Dewald Bruwer largely grew up after the abolition of apartheid. They carry this history (1948 – 1990) of the violent racial segregation system and the apartheid regime pursued by a white government, but they are also the representatives of today’s South Africa. All three photographers feel involved in their living environment, which they investigate, document and depict from their ‘insider position’ with the help of their cameras.

‘URBAN MYTHS’ is a series of beautiful portraits with poignant and moving moments, self-confident looks, economic vulnerability and often with a deeper story, everything can be found in this series of photos. The young photographers open a door to a world that we may not know up close, but they invite us to view and experience their world with an open mind.

The exhibition can be seen until mid-November.
