Exhibition: Celebrate the connection!

On Thursday July 28th the exhibition Celebrate the connection! opens at the Passage of De Hallen Amsterdam. With the works ‘Celebrate’, ‘Connect’ and ‘Interact’, designer Claar Delfsma gives a new shape to the colors of the rainbow flag.

Last year during Pride Week in Amsterdam, the Progress Pride Flag was more visible than the well-known rainbow flag. This was one of the reasons for Claar to do extensive research into the pride flags. The meaning of the colors on the flags inspired her to connect the colored stripes in a different way.

The layered interwoven color connections that have arisen from this, show a different perspective of the pride colors and remain recognizable. The most important principle is: everyone can be who she/he/x want to be and celebrate the connection!

Three works have been selected for the exhibition:

Interact: Shows cross connections of the six rainbow flag colors.

Connect: connected, creates a different perception of the progress pride colors.

Celebrate: celebrates the cross connections in mosaic form.

In addition, the Passage is equipped with a series of derived banners.

With the exhibition, Claar wants to inspire and offer space for other perspectives. Not specifically aimed at discussion, but at new observations. After the Rietveld Academy, she developed and realized various projects as a designer/art director/image maker.

The exhibition can be seen from July 28th to September 26th at the Passage of De Hallen Amsterdam.
