Exhibition Cat City

The Passage of De Hallen is part of the art route of the exhibition ‘Cat City’ this month. The exhibition is an initiative of artists Femke van Heerikhuizen and Wasco, who set up this project together with WG Kunst.

Residents of Amsterdam Oud-West can participate in the art project. Make a cat yourself (drawing, painting, cutting, crafts, everything is allowed) and place it at home in your window, on the balcony, in the (front) yard. Together these cats form an art route, with WG Kunst as central exhibition place.

A so-called ‘drip exhibition’ has been set up in WG Kunst. Visitors (maximum 6 people at the same time because of the Corona virus) can admire the work of visual artists Femke van Heerikhuizen, Wasco, René Windig and Luitzen Zandbergen.

The exhibition has a dual function. In addition to being an independent exhibition, the exhibition serves as a framework and inspiration for the neighborhood project. Everyone in the exhibition can be inspired by the variety of cats through the eyes of the visual artists.

De Hallen is part of the exhibition throughout June. The exhibition in WG Kunst can be admired until July 5.
