exhibition ‘I am here am I’
“I am here am I” is an exhibition by the artist duo Van de Camp & Heesterbeek. Patricia van de Camp studied graphic art and photography at the Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam and the Design School Kolding in Denmark. Marc Heesterbeek studied architecture at the Technische Universiteit Eindhoven and space architecture at The Sasakawa International Center for Space Architecture in Houston. They became an artist duo in 2018.
With ‘I am here am I’ the gallery will show a selection of black and white images around the selfie spot that the artists created especially for the gallery and which will remain in place throughout the exhibition. Through digital manipulation the themes identity and aesthetics are explored.
With the selfie spot they react to the culture of selfies in which “I selfie, therefore I am”. Van de Camp & Heesterbeek question that statement. The title of the exposition can be read as a statement but also as a question.
