Dostojevski Kwartet

The Dostojevski Quartet is a promising string quartet that is praised for its energetic and inspired interplay. The quartet was founded in 2014 and consists of the musicians Charlotte Basalo Vazquez (viola), Julia Kleinsmann (violin), Francesca Wiersma Vilalta and Emma Kroon (cello). While they were together, the Dostojevski Quartet gave concerts in, among others, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, De Doelen, the Muziekgebouw aan het IJ and as part of various chamber music series throughout The Netherlands. They played at (inter)national festivals, including the Grachtenfestival, International Chamber Music Festival Utrecht, Festival de quatuors à cordes and Pays de Fayence and the String Quartet Biennale Amsterdam. They were also guests at AVRO Spiegelzaal, Opium op 4 and Podium Witteman.

The quartet collaborated with the Doelen Quartet, Dudok Quartet and cellist Denis Brott, among others.

The string quartet took lessons with Dmitri Ferschtman, Eberhard Feltz, Luc-Marie Aguera and Marc Danel, among others. From autumn 2016, they study as a quartet at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and the Netherlands String Quartet Academy. They also followed a two-year coaching program at the Quatuor Danel, set up in collaboration with TivoliVredenburg. Charlotte, Julia, Francesca and Emma are all borrowers with the National Musical Instruments Fund.
