The name AkomaFM is inspired by the Adinkra symbol Akoma, which means ‘’the heart’’ in Twi, the language of the Akan people of Ghana. Symbolically, Akoma stands for patience, compassion, love and emotional strength. At AkomaFM, we embody the frequency of ‘’Akoma’’ by creating a space where creatives from the African diaspora are not only seen and heard, but also supported in their growth – artistically, personally and professionally. We curate experiences that blend music, art, fashion, food and education. AkomaFm is a platform that champions representation, community and empowerment.
